From my very own experience, there are occassions when softening right up a photograph may well provide the photo shooter with a dose of an inspired flare. Many times however, that soft blur isn’t precisely what you had in your mind and can sometimes spoil an otherwise good photograph, especially if you anticipate enlarging that.
